Devices and services not allowed on the LPS network

The following devices and services are not to be connected or used on the LPS network either wired or wirelessly. These devices and services are intended for consumer and home use. Some of these devices and services also bring security and privacy concerns in a school setting because of their "always listening" status. This makes them non-complaint with CIPA, FERPA, and COPPA. 

  • Google Assistant (e.g. Google Nest Hub, Google Nest Audio, Google Nest Mini)
  • Apple Siri (e.g. Apple HomePod, Apple HomePod Mini)
  • Amazon Alexa (e.g. Amazon Echo Show, Amazon Echo Dot)
  • Meta Portal
  • Microsoft Cortana
  • Samsung Bixby
